ANEMIA MUKT BHARAT

Anemia poses a major threat to maternal and child survival, and contributes to low birth weight, lowered resistance to infection, poor cognitive development, and decreased work productivity. The magnitude of anemia together with the associated adverse health, development, and economic consequences, highlights the need for intensified action to address this public health problem. Success in the prevention and control of anemia will contribute to the reduction of maternal and child mortality and improve health outcomes for the population as a whole.

To address the issue of Iron deficiency Anemia Mukt Bharat program has been started.

Objective: To reduce the prevalence of Anaemia among children and reproductive age groups of women.

The following is being implemented in the State

6months- 5 years

Syrup IFA (at least 8 doses of IFA syrup )

6 years-10 years

Pink IFA Tablets (at least 4 pink IFA tablets)

11 years-19 years

Blue Tablet (at least 4 blue IFA tablets)

Pregnant and lactating women

Red Tablets (at least 180 IFA tablets)

Women of Reproductive age group

Red Tablets (at least 4 red IFA tablets)
